I frequently dream that I’m driving a car, but the brakes won’t work, and I can’t stop. It’s terrifying, and I always wake up feeling panicked. Could this dream represent feeling out of control in my life? Has anyone else had similar dreams?

I’ve had this dream! It’s terrifying. I think it’s about feeling like you’ve lost control in real life, like something’s happening too fast, and you can’t stop it.

This dream always stresses me out. I agree—it’s probably about control or feeling powerless in a situation. It might be your brain’s way of dealing with that fear.

Dreams like this are definitely anxiety-driven. I feel like the car is a metaphor for life or responsibilities that are spinning out of control.
