One of the biggest challenges with lucid dreaming is staying in the dream without waking up too soon. I’ve been working on extending my lucid dreams, and one technique that helps is reality checks. The more I do them during the day, the more likely I’ll realize I’m dreaming at night.

I’ve read that keeping a dream journal can improve dream recall. When I write down my dreams, it seems to help me become more aware during the next ones.

Meditation before bed can also help. It calms the mind and prepares it for lucid dreaming. I’ve noticed I have clearer dreams after meditating.

I think setting intentions can be powerful too. Before sleeping, I tell myself that I will become aware in my dreams. It’s like programming my mind to recognize when I’m dreaming.

One technique I tried is WBTB (Wake Back to Bed). I wake up after a few hours, stay awake for a bit, and then go back to sleep. It seems to help with lucidity and dream length.

I’ve also experimented with sleep cycles. Figuring out when I’m in REM sleep has helped me time my attempts to become lucid, which extends the dream.
